Privacy policy.
We collect as little as we need to run a small, invite-only community — and nothing for advertising.
01 — What we collect
When you join
- Your name and email address.
- The invite code you used, and so who invited you.
- Optionally, what you’d bring to the room.
- Whether you registered for the current edition.
- Your choice about appearing in photos and recordings.
- When you agreed to the house rules and this policy.
When you request an invite
- Your name, email, an optional link, and your note.
As you take part
- Your personal invite codes, and the email addresses you send them to from the site.
- A ticket ID on your pass, so organisers can check it’s genuine.
02 — Why
- To run the community and the event: your pass, your invites, and the room link.
- To send you emails about your membership, invites and the event. We don’t send marketing.
- To verify tickets and keep the community invite-only.
- To respect your choice about photos and recordings.
- To prevent abuse, such as guessing invite codes or spamming invites.
03 — Who processes it
We use a few services to run the site. They handle your data only on our behalf:
- Supabase — our database.
- Resend — sends our emails.
- Vercel — hosts the website, and keeps standard request logs (such as IP address) for security.
- Zoho — our inbox, if you email or reply to us.
We don’t sell your data or share it with anyone for advertising.
04 — Cookies & tracking
We don’t use analytics, ad trackers or tracking cookies. Fonts are served from our own site. The only cookies are sign-in cookies for organisers using the admin area.
05 — Photos & recordings
We only photograph or record people who opted in, and we announce it beforehand. You can change your choice on your private page at any time; if you opt out, we won’t use new material of you and will remove existing material where we can. See the house rules.
06 — How long we keep it
We keep your membership data while you’re a member. Invite requests are kept until they’re handled and are deleted once no longer needed. When you leave, we delete your personal data, except where we must keep something to prevent abuse.
07 — Your choices
You can ask us to:
- show you the data we hold about you;
- correct it;
- delete it and end your membership;
- stop using your image in photos or recordings.
Email hello@unconf.org from the address you joined with. We’ll reply within 30 days.
08 — Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we’ll update the date above and email members. Questions? Write to hello@unconf.org.
